Edwardsville at 200: A Year in Photos

The City of Edwardsville is celebrating our bicentennial and we want you to be a part of it!

Edwardsville at 200: A Year in Photos

The People, Places, Projects, and Perspectives of Edwardsville in Pictures, during its 200th year.

To commemorate the 200th anniversary of Edwardsville’s charter, the City proposes a photo archive be collected of the people, places, events, and moments that characterize the Edwardsville experience in 2019.

We would like to encourage our residents, organizations, businesses, and institutions to take photos and submit them to the City digitally.

The Final Product

We plan to display select photos at locations around town.

We will post a video montage of the photos on our website and social media.

We also plan to create a coffee table picture book with the top 200 photos selected by a committee.

We will also be preserving them in a digital archive for future generations.

What we are looking for to show the current Edwardsville experience in 2019:

  • People: Individuals, families, groups in recognizable City settings
  • Places:  Buildings, parks, businesses, neighborhoods
  • Projects: Building projects, service projects, club activities, ribbon cuttings,
  • Events: Municipal Band Concerts, Parades, Goshen Market, Festivals, Criterium
  • Happenings: Little League games, Rotary meetings, Church services,
  • Moments: Residents at restaurants, in front yards, on sidewalks, at playgrounds
