The City of Edwardsville has adopted our first-ever Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. We are excited to utilize this document to work toward becoming a more bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly community. Thank you to everyone who participated in this plan's public engagement aspect. On June 9, 2022, the City of Edwardsville held an open house at the Main Street Community Center to receive public input on a new plan Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan that focuses on 10 “priority corridors” for alternatives and improvements to inter-city transportation. Improvements could include extended walking and bike trails, wider sidewalks, and on-street pavement markings – among other aesthetic and functional additions. The public meeting included visual aids such as large maps and visioning boards. The map of the priority corridors and example roadways can be found below. The plan was later adopted by the City Council.
