* WHAT...Temperatures will quickly fall below freezing late this afternoon and this evening. Any untreated surfaces that remain wet from showers earlier today, and that receive more freezing rain this evening will become icy. The ice will result in difficult travel conditions. Ice accumulations of less than one tenth of an inch are expected. * WHERE...The winter weather advisory includes portions of east central Missouri and southwest Illinois.
* WHEN...Until 6 AM CST Friday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

.DAY ONE...Tonight Wintry precipitation, including freezing rain, sleet, and snow, is expected for much of the area this evening and should continue late into the night for areas south and east of Saint Louis. Some ice accumulation is expected for much of the area with additional accumulations of snow and sleet for areas mainly south and east of Saint Louis. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday Snow is likely for some areas on Sunday night and Monday with accumulations possible.
Wind chills are likely to attain dangerous levels of 15 below zero or lower during Monday night and Tuesday morning for areas mainly north of Interstate 70. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters are encouraged to report precipitation type and accumulation amounts with the winter event through tonight.
