The Edwardsville Police Department maintains an agreement with IyeTek, a product of LexisNexis, to provide traffic crash reports online. The LexisNexis Accident Report Retrieval Service allows us to let drivers, owners, and insurance companies acquire traffic crash reports without the time constraints of picking up reports at the police department or receiving them by mail. Crash reports are usually available on the secured site within 24 hours of being reported to the police department and scanned into the records database.
Statistics
The Edwardsville Police Department files nearly 1,100 traffic crash reports yearly. Normally each crash report is requested two to four times; this creates a workload of copying over 4,000 crash reports each year. The LexisNexis Accident Report Retrieval Service reduces this workload and provides convenient public access 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Report Availability
All persons involved in traffic crashes can obtain a copy of their crash report for a fee online or print out a Driver Information Exchange Form for free.
Reports also remain available for pickup at the Edwardsville Police Department, 333 S. Main Street. Anyone who wants to obtain a report in person may do so at the police department three business days after the crash occurred. Photocopy fees apply for each report requested.
