The City of Edwardsville will host The Midwest Open: $20K AVP Next Professional Beach Volleyball Tournament. This elite two-day professional beach volleyball competition will take place Saturday and Sunday, September 20-21, 2025, at Plummer Family Park, 3501 Sports Park Drive. Enjoy the action and excitement as more than two dozen top-tier men's and women's 2v2 teams compete for prizes totaling $20,000! The competition is free for the public to attend and will be the first-ever professional tournament on the City's six beach volleyball courts, which opened in spring 2025. We'll have food trucks, a DJ and more to enjoy while the tournament action is underway!

VOLLIS, a beach volleyball lifestyle brand dedicated to hosting premier tournaments and growing the sport’s community culture, is serving as the tournament organizer in partnership with the City of Edwardsville. The Midwest Open is an AVP Next event, part of the Association of Volleyball Professionals -- the nation’s largest and longest-running professional beach volleyball tour. 

The tournament payout is guaranteed at $20,000, split evenly between a men's and women's division. The top-finishing team in each division will win $5,000, while the second-place teams will receive $3,000. A third-place match will not be played; instead the two remaining semifinalists in both divisions will each receive $1,000.  This is a professional-only event; no amateur teams will be able to participate.
