Public Works
The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining and improving Edwardsville's quality of life by planning for future needs, building and maintaining municipal infrastructure, managing public capital improvement projects, and promoting environmental health and safety. The department is responsible for regular maintenance on city roads, storm sewers, water mains, and sewer mains.
The Public Works Department and Planning Division manage the growth and development of the City to promote general welfare and enhance the quality of life for all City residents. Staff reviews all proposed site development projects, provides daily inspections for building and site development as well as installation of public infrastructure. In addition, the City adopted a Rental Registration and Inspection Program in which all rental properties are to be registered and inspected annually.
